| Following a line of rappers who have transferred their talents from music to the big screen, hip-hop star TI has just sold his idea for a new movie to major company, New Line. Written by TI, otherwise known as Tip Harris, and his partner Jason Geter, the project, called For Sale, is set in the world of the used car lot, reports Variety. TI has plans to play a used car salesman for the project, which focuses on one of the worst car lots in Atlanta. The pitch is from the rapper's Grand Hustle Films production company, which he formed in 2003 with Jason Geter. It won't be TI's first time in front of the camera though, having made his acting debut with this year's ATL, which has just come out on DVD in the US. In ATL, Tip plays a teenager in Atlanta, who hangs out with his friends at the roller rink while they try to figure out their lives after high school. Said to be based loosely on the experiences of music producer Dallas Austin and Tionne Watkins of girl hip-hop group TLC growing up in Atlanta, the movie did pretty well, making more than $21 million in the US. Featuring a screenplay by Tina Gordon Chism and based on a story by Antwone Fisher, the film was produced by another member of rap royalty - Will Smith's company, Overbrook Productions. The movie was directed by Chris Robinson, who made his name in music videos, including directing the video for TI's What You Know track. As an extra bonus for fans, the music video is included on the DVD, along with some deleted scenes and a feature looking behind the scenes at Atlanta's music world. ATL also stars OutKast's Antwan 'Big Boi' Patton as a decadent drugs kingpin, shooting the movie just after starring in Idlewild, a film about music in the southern states during the depression. Talented newcomer Lauren London also makes an appearance in ATL, playing the role of Tip's love interest New New, a rich girl who hides her identity to come and hang out with the kids on the wrong side of the tracks.
