US pop star Britney Spears has narrowly missed out on top spot in a poll to find the world's favourite song.

The poll carried out by Sony Ericsson was conducted over a whopping 66 countries worldwide, and in 20 different languages.

Speaking of the Queen song Dee Dutta, corporate vice president and head of marketing at Sony Ericsson said: "An anthem worldwide, both in music and sporting arenas, it conveys the passion music brings to everyone’s life as well as proving a classic rock song is truly timeless."

The 23-year-old pop princess also came in second place in the top global artist ranking, which was again headed by Queen.

The US star and former Mickey Mouse club member recently gave birth to her first child, Preston.
