Las Vegas, a town not widely renowned for its upstanding Christian values, has banned rap after ruling that the music constitutes a threat to public order.

The first casualty of the ruling by the Las Vegas Gaming Control Board is an up-coming Snoop concert, which will now be illegal under the Sin City clean-up campaign.

The unusual decision was made after a police officer was murdered by a local rapper.

The local sheriff department said that banning all rap shows is a "legitimate crime-prevention strategy", and the Gaming Control Board issued a warning to casinos that rappers are "serious threats to the community".
