| Kanye West will still be supporting Irish rockers U2 on their rescheduled tour, the band has confirmed. There were doubts over whether the rapper would still be on board when the original tour was cancelled earlier in the year after a family member of one of the band fell ill. However, West will still be putting in an appearance to support the band, along with grunge godfathers Pearl Jam, on the next leg of the U2 tour which will start in November. West will give fans a treat by opening for the band in Australia and New Zealand, but won't be going on to Japan with the tour. The rapper has been a busy man lately, having just concluded a tour of South Africa, as well as headlining at the Stockholm Jazz Festival and seeing his vocal talents showcased on Pharrell Williams' new single Number One. West has also been confirmed to be performing at the annual celebration of style, the Fashion Rocks live concert taking place in New York City in September. The always impeccably-dressed artist will join a line-up including such shining stars as Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and The Black Eyed Peas for the concert, which celebrates the relationship between fashion and music. "You can't think about Hip-Hop without visualising its style along with the beat," said the concert's executive producer, Richard D Beckman. "Today, the worlds of fashion and music are merging faster then ever, with multiple artists including Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, capitalising on this synergy by launching fashion lines of their own. "Fashion Rocks celebrates this unique marriage and promises to be one of the most exciting shows of the year." The glamorous show will be curated by outrageous British fashion icon Elton John, with some unusual artist parings and some reworking of classic hits promised for the fans. Kanye West was recently honoured along with another artist on the bill for the Fashion Rocks event Jamie Foxx for their work on the Gold Digger single. The pair won the Best Collaboration gong at the US Black Entertainment Television (Bet) awards for their work on the track, as well as tying with Mary J Blige's Be Without You in the Video of the Year category. Fashion Rocks will be screened in the US on September 8th, with proceeds going to Elton John's Aids charity
