| Rap star Lil' Kim's house arrest has come to an end, her representatives have revealed.
The star was released on parole on July 3rd this year, but one of the conditions of her bail was that she remain under house arrest for 30 days. She had already spent ten months in prison in Philadelphia.
Lil' Kim had been sentenced to 366 days in prison for perjury, after lying to a grand jury over an incident in New York. The star was found guilty of lying to the court over her knowledge of a daytime shooting outside Hot 97, but her sentence was cut for good behaviour and as such the rapper has been spending the last month confined not to a prison cell but to her own home.
However, it has been reported that Lil' Kim has not been inactive since getting back to her home and has been busying herself with a number of business matters. It is understood that the star has been running her various business interests from her home and fans will be hoping that she has also been using her time behind bars to get together some material for new music.
Her attorney, L. Londell McMillan, has apparently been running Lil' Kim's businesses from his office and he has revealed that she is looking to establish a prison outreach project. Following her experiences in the cells, it seems that Lil' Kim – real name Kimberly Jones – has been moved to establish the outreach programme as part of her Lil' Kim Cares foundation.
Mr McMillan also stated that the rap star getting business training as well as searching for a new record deal.
Lil' Kim is also believed to have begun editing footage for her next television series of Lil' Kim: Countdown to Lockdown. The original series was the star's first ever reality television programme and it followed her and her entourage as they shot a video, recorded some music and hung out. Shot just two weeks before her incarceration, the first series also provided an intimate look at Lil' Kim and her state of mind ahead of her looming prison sentence. The show was a huge hit in the US, drawing in 1.9 million viewers when it debuted on March 9th, making it the most watched original series in BET's history.
Fans are likely to get a similarly intimate look at the rapper when the new series is launched, as it is likely to show Lil' Kim both in prison and during her time under house arrest.
