Eminem's long-estranged mother is hoping for a reunion with her post-Closet son following his re-engagement to formerly-estranged ex-wife Kim.

Which has to make you wonder what he's going to rap about after building a career on slagging off the women in his life, and then how sorry he is that he slagged them off.

Debbie Nelson, 50, has had her hopes raised about being all one big happy family again ever since Slim began paying her medical bills as she battles lymphoma.

"I thank Marshall for helping me stay alive," she said. "I want to be around to see my granddaughter, Haillie, grow up. That's what keeps me going."

Debs hasn't seen Hailie since she had a very public row with her son in 2000, and can't have failed to notice that she hasn't been invited to his upcoming wedding.

"Now that he's getting his life back on track with Kim, I'm hopeful that someday we'll be able to reconcile and move forward, to get beyond all of the hurt and bitterness."
