Crazy Frog targets Christmas top spot

Date: 30/09/2005

The Crazy Frog is set to jump into the race for Christmas number one, the Sun has revealed.

The bouncy green amphibian whose previous hit was Axel F, is set to take on the likes of G4 and Cliff Richard, and current favourites Westlife and Diana Ross in a bid to be top on Christmas Day.

The same producers behind the Crazy Frog's previous chart topper, which built on the success of the hugely popular Frog ringtones, are responsible for the project.Crazy Frog targets Christmas top spot

They told the newspaper's source about the new venture: "It'll be a combination of tunes like Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. It's the obvious seasonal novelty record."

However, with there only being two novelty records in the past twenty years that have been top at Christmas, the little green frog will certainly have his work cut out for him.

Coral, the bookmakers, are currently offering the Crazy Frog as fifth favourites to be Christmas number one.
