American rap sensation Eminem is tidying up lose ends by making friends with pop superstar Mariah Carey, a paper has revealed.

Eminem, whose hits include Lose Yourself and Mockingbird, was romantically linked with Ms Carey several years ago, but the two fell out following Eminem's decision to play answer phone messages from Mariah during his concerts.

However, that appears to all be in the past, with the Daily Mirror quoting an unnamed source as saying that Eminem wrote a letter of apology to Ms Carey.

"Em wrote to Mariah saying he wanted to call a truce. And she has always believed in peace and love so was really happy about it," the source said.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshal Mathers, has recently been reported by US Weekly as being interested in buying Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch.

The ranch, which is situated in Santa Barbara, California, is a place Jackson has said he will never go back to following the recent police investigation into his life.
