Christina Aguilera and future husband Jordan Bratman are the latest celebrities to join the trend and donate to hurricane victims.

The couple are to get married at the end of the year, but on their wedding list have asked for guests to not bring presents, but to donate to charity instead.

"While we celebrate the richness of life and all the circumstances that have blessed us in career and love, we are mindful of those suffering as a result of hurricanes Katrina and Rita," the couple's invites say.

"The best gift you could give us is a donation to any of the organizations helping the stricken citizens of New Orleans."

The Genie in a Bottle singer has been engaged to the music executive since February after dating him for over two years.

The couple join the likes of Usher, who organised a charity concert, and Britney Spears, who auctioned some clothing and personal items, in raising money for the victims of this year's hurricanes.
