Charlotte's the same with fame

Date: 12/10/2005

Teen singing star Charlotte Church has said she would be exactly the same person if she wasn't famous.

The Welsh songstress said that she doesn't follow what anyone in the music business tells her to do because she was well looked after when she was young.

"I'm exactly the same person I would be if I wasn't famous," she said.

"Because I was so young when I started out, the people in charge of me couldn't try to change me - when you're 12 you're very well protected legally."

She added: "No one was allowed to tell me what to do and what to say."

The hit single Crazy Chick has brought Charlotte very much into the public eye, having previously been known for her operatic work such as Voice of an Angel.

Charlotte's newest single, Call My Name and Crazy Chick are both from her album Tissue and Issues and have converted into popular ringtones.
